About Wine Trends
Founded in 1984 by Sandy Earl, Wine Trends distributes emerging brands, artisan and luxury wines to restaurant and retail permit holders throughout the state of Ohio. Wine Trends focuses on personal relationships with wineries that share its passion for creating the “unexpected” in the wine industry. Because of these authentic winery relationships, Wine Trends attracts associates and customers who implicitly understand the portfolio’s uniqueness.
In 2008, Wine Trends merged with Heidelberg Distributing’s fine wine sales division, The Lion Group. This allows Wine Trends to give the same level of attention and industry expertise you would expect from a boutique distributorship, but with the sizable distribution network of one of the country’s largest beer and wine distributors.
Wine Trends is guided by Brent Wagener, executive vice president and general manager; John Hopkins, vice president of marketing; and Mary Horn, vice president of sales, who have decades of experience in the industry selling, marketing and growing brands in Ohio. They’re committed to teaching, sharing, and living Wine Trends’ core values of respectful and valued relationships, passion, professionalism, integrity and authenticity with their teams and winery partners.
